Luis Leon received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from LaSalle University in Mexico City and then continued his education at Mexico City’s Hotel & Tourism School earning another bachelors degree in hotel management in 1970. Mr. Leon taught Hotel & Restaurant Administration at the University of Northern Baja California from 1972 through 1974. He is fluent in Spanish.
Mr. Leon has managed independent and branded full-service hotels, including Holiday Inn, Ramada, Best Western and Hilton Garden Inn hotels since the 1980s. He was recognized by the American Hotel & Lodging Association in 1996 as a Certified Hotel Administrator (C.H.A.). In 1999, Mr. Leon joined Marin Management as assistant general manager of a 325-room hotel and conference center. Since then, he has been promoted several times until becoming regional manager in March 2007.
